The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau is requesting public comment on whether changes should be made to Reg Z, which covers mortgage loan disclosures. The CFPB is particularly interested in feedback on the TILA-RESPA penalty safe harbor, which limits the amount lenders can be sued for if they follow the rule. The bureau is also seeking comment on whether the rule should be revised to require lenders to provide more information to borrowers about their options for fema disaster relief. The comment period will close on September 20, 2019.
