The Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) has appointed a new vice president of legislative affairs whose focus will be lobbying Republican senators, according to the organization.
Some of the MBA’s top priorities for the new vice president include:
– repealing the Dodd-Frank Act
– reforming the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau
– decreasing regulations on small lenders
The MBA hopes that by appointing a veteran lobbyist with strong ties to the Republican Party, they will be able to more effectively influence legislators on these key issues.
