US federal agencies, including the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), have issued a reminder to Americans of their Civil Rights Act protections under Title VI. This reminder is a reminder that all people have equal access to federally assisted programs, regardless of their race, color, or national origin.
The agencies have also reminded these entities of their obligation to provide meaningful access to, and participation in, their services, activities, and benefits. HUD has emphasized that it will investigate when it receives complaints of discrimination or unfair practices and will take appropriate action when it finds cause.
