The Home Purchase Sentiment Index produced by Fannie Mae dropped slightly in January from the month before. The decrease was due largely to concerns over job security, with the index’s component measuring whether now is a good time to sell a home also falling.

Despite the slight dip, the index remains near its all-time high, indicating that consumer confidence in the housing market remains strong. This is in line with other recent data showing that home sales and prices continue to rise across the country.
